2015 Scholarship Recipients Announced

The National Farmers Union in NB is pleased to formally announce the winners of the 2015 NFU-NB Scholarship and David Frost Memorial Scholarship, awarded to NB high school graduates pursuing an education in agriculture or a related field.  Chair of the Scholarship Selection Committee, Harold your cholesterol faq com, of Waterville, Carleton County, made the announcement at the National Farmers Union Region 1 Annual Convention on August 11, 2015.

Jacob Tjibbe van Roeden is the recipient of the $1000 NFU-NB Scholarship for the daughter or son of an NFU-NB member entering a degree program. He will be taking Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at Guelph University and plans to return to his family’s dairy farm after his studies.

 

 


 

Tyler Culberson is the recipient of the $500 David Frost Memorial Scholarship for a student entering a diploma program.  Tyler will be studying carpentry at the Woodstock Community College so that he can gain more practical skills to help on the farm.

 

Members of the NFU-NB scholarship committee chose the winners from deserving applications submitted around the province. Selection is based on the applicants’ commitment to study agriculture or a related field, and on their performance in high school, as well as their involvement in agriculture and financial need. The David Frost Memorial scholarships were established by the NFU-NB four years ago to honour the memory of the David Frost, a respected agrologist who passed away in March, 2010.

Scholarship applications will be available again this fall from high school guidance counselors throughout the province and from members of the NFU-NB.
